Elias Albert Brownlow 1856 - 1930
Elias Albert Brownlow was born at Campti, Natchitoches Parish Louisiana, in September 1856.
Eugene and his family moved to Victoria, Texas sometime before 1860.
After his mother death in death sometime before 1860 Elias was raised by his stepmother, Melinda Williams. In 1864 Elias father died during the Civil War. In 1870 Elias and his family lived in Victoria, Texas.
In 1895 Elias is show to pay taxes on property in Dewitt County, Texas.
By 1880 Elias had moved out of his family home and lived with the Mayfield family in Helene, Karnes County, Texas. It was here, in 1881, that Elias met Hattie Lou Boykin and they married.
Elias and Hattie were living in Concrete, Dewitt County, in 1900. By 1910 Elias and Hattie had moved to McLennan County, Texas.
Hattie died in 1911 and Elias had a hard time. The children that remained at home were moved into foster homes and Elias began living with his older sons.
Elias and Hattie had 12 children, Lillie Gertrude, Lee Alexander, Oliver W., Eugene Albert, Josephine, Margret L., Robert Martin, Ira Clemons, James Archie, Bertie, Hettie, and Maudie Louise.
Elias died October 26, 1930.
