The Merrick/Mirick Family
Navigation Tips
We try very hard to make navigation through our website as simple and smooth as possible but we understand that we see everything from the desinger eye and that some will not find it as easy as we hope. These tips will hopefully provide some insight into how we have constructed the website and the fundmentals of our navigation.
First we need you to understand that the website is divided into to two sites.
1. The Merrick/Mirick Family - this is the base website and provides a alot of information.
2. The Merrick/Mirick Family Tree - this part of the website is our new family tree website. It contains everyone in the database with notes pictures and documents.
First level menu: At the top right of all the base website page you will find a very simple top level menu that should allow quick easy navigation to the main section of the website.
Second level menu: On the main level pages you will see the large graphics fading in and out. These graphics will allow you to move to the specific section of the website represented by the graphic.
Third level menu: Below the large graphic you will see a row of thumbnails that will allow you to quickly select the large graphic you would like to naviagte to.
Fourth level menu: To the right you see a section menu. These menus allow you to access more detailed pages. You'll notice that while in some sections the menu will remain the same to allow you to move through that section easier.
Fifth level menu: In the family memeber pages you will notice that some of individual children will be highlighted and allow navigation to their page. Not everyone person will have a page but for those that do you can find many more lines of the family.
Sixth level menu: At the bottom of all base website pages you'll find special links to other family memeber websites and genealogy research resources sites.
We hope you enjoy our site and encourage you to use our Contact Us page for feedback and suggestions.
