Abel and his wife, Sarah were married an their children were Isaac Hodges (b 1790), Edmund Hodges (b 1794), John Hodges (b 194), Allison Hodges (b 1796), Charles Hodges (b 1797), William Hodges (b 1802), James Thomas Hodges (b 1804).
Abel died in 1831 in Franklin County, Tennessee.
